Prevention

Cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in most of the countries. The survival rate is linked to the timeliness of the defibrillation therapy. In out-of-hospital settings, AEDs (Automatic and Semi-Automatic External Defibrillators) can be used by anyone and can save many lives every year

The effectiveness of defibrillation

In case of cardiac arrest, the defibrillator can make the difference. Traditional cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers are not enough and it is necessary to operate as soon as possible with a defibrillator, the only tool capable of restoring the correct heart rhythm. In an out-of-hospital situation, having an AED in a school, a square, a workplace, or a gym, means having the opportunity to save a person from a cardiac arrest thanks to a timely intervention.
